Tips for Preparing Your Art

If using CorelDraw^® version X5 be sure the option to compress files is chosen (Tools/Options/Workspace/Memory - Check the box labeled "Enable Compression", then go to Document/Save - and check both of the boxes labeled "Use Bitmap/Graphic Object Compression"). This option creates much smaller files than normal, is a great long-term method of saving disk space and will also speed up the transfer of email or ftp files for those who have a slower connection.

Convert all fonts to vector paths. If using CorelDraw^®, you have two choices. You can choose to convert the fonts to paths, the command is "Convert to Curves" (default keyboard combination is "Ctrl+Q"). Also, when you "Save/Save As" you can check the box marked "Embed Fonts using TrueDoc (TM)" and answer yes to the warning dialog box that will appear (Design Dynamics, Inc./Pittsburgh Poster is legally obligated to delete any fonts sent to us by a client after shipment of that order). In Adobe Illustrator^® use "Create Outlines". Some other applications use the command "Convert to Paths".
If your design requires a graduated screen, remember 5% is the minimum rather than graduating to 0%. Do not blend more than two colors unless your design is to be reproduced 100% digitally.
Please, always double check and INCLUDE a separate written description of all spot colors (Pantone^® Matching System preferred) and font styles used.

Send via Email

For files under 10,000 Kbytes, you can send us your art files by Email.
Click here » art@pittsburghposter.com and attach your file(s) along with a description and any other relevant information such as specific Pantone colors and font names used.*

*Note: If you have converted all fonts to curves, there is no need to include the fonts with the design.

Send via FTP

For files over 1 MegaByte, you can send us your art files by FTP.
Pittsburgh Poster FTP service helps save you time and shipping expenses when submitting your electronic files for production. This server is online 24 hours a day and is designed to allow you to upload files and entire jobs from your computer directly to our production floor.
Always contact us via e-mail or phone (see below) before sending any artwork.
